Incumbent Republican Austin Scott faces Democrat Kelly Esti in Georgia’s 8th congressional district general election on November 3, 2026. Scott secured the Republican nomination unopposed in the May primary, while Esti prevailed in a competitive Democratic primary. The district’s strong Republican lean, reflected in its partisan voting index and Scott’s prior margins above 60 percent, positions him for a clear majority. With only two major-party candidates on the ballot and no significant third-party challengers emerging, traders assign a 98.6 percent implied probability to an outright winner. A runoff would require vote splitting or an unforeseen late development that prevents any candidate from exceeding 50 percent.
