**Mike Johnson, the Republican incumbent and House Speaker, faces a fragmented field of challengers in Louisiana’s jungle primary for the 4th congressional district.** The district remains strongly Republican following recent redistricting adjustments. Qualifying has closed with Johnson opposed by several Democrats, including farmer Conrad Cable, and lesser-known Republicans such as Gordon Heslop and Mike Nichols. Historical patterns in safe Louisiana seats show incumbents routinely clearing 50%+ when opposition is limited and divided, allowing an outright win on November 3 without a December runoff. Trader consensus at 93% reflects this structural advantage, the absence of credible vote-splitting threats, and Johnson’s high statewide profile, consistent with similar past Louisiana House races where dominant candidates avoided runoffs. No major late developments have altered the low likelihood of a runoff scenario.
