Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to a cooling trend on September 10 following a mid-week heatwave, with onshore flow and marine layer influence expected to limit the daily high in Los Angeles to the mid-to-upper 80s. Sea surface temperatures along the coast remain near seasonal norms, supporting modest afternoon warming under mostly sunny skies, while light westerly winds prevent significant inland heat advection. Historical September averages near 76–77°F provide context, yet recent observations show elevated baselines after consecutive days above 85°F. Key variables include exact timing of marine layer intrusion and any late-day clearing that could add a degree or two, keeping market-implied odds tightly clustered between 86–89°F as traders weigh these atmospheric factors ahead of final observations.
