Official National Weather Service forecasts for San Francisco on August 25 highlight a persistent shallow marine layer and onshore westerly flow, limiting daytime heating and keeping highs in the 60s to lower 70s at coastal and airport sites. Recent model guidance shows modest ridging building offshore, allowing some afternoon clearing and a potential 2–5°F warm-up relative to the prior day, yet the layer depth near 1,000 feet continues to cap temperatures near seasonal averages. Trader consensus between the closely matched 70–71°F and 72–73°F bins reflects uncertainty over exact marine-layer erosion and wind timing, with the 74–75°F outcome priced lower due to limited model support for stronger warming.
