**Forecast models from MetService and international sources indicate a high near 13–14°C for Wellington on September 22, driven by a southerly airflow behind a front that introduces cooler maritime air and likely rain, limiting daytime warming.** This aligns with the market's heavy weighting toward 15°C (65.5%) and 14°C (23.5%), reflecting trader consensus on the most probable maximum under these conditions. Wellington's spring climatology features frequent wind shifts and rapid temperature changes; the current setup favors suppressed highs compared with recent warmer northerly periods. Updated model runs and any shift in frontal timing or cloud cover could adjust the final reading, with official observations from the Wellington airport station determining resolution.
