The Louisiana Republican Senate Primary is currently scheduled to be held on May 16, 2026, with a runoff on June 27 if no candidate wins a majority in the primary. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who receives the most valid votes in the first round of this election. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If no 2026 Louisiana Republican Senate Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first announcement of the results from the Louisiana Republican Party; however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Trump’s January 2026 endorsement has positioned U.S. Representative Julia Letlow as the clear frontrunner in Louisiana’s Republican Senate primary, drawing consistent trader support reflected in her dominant market share. The endorsement capitalized on incumbent Bill Cassidy’s 2021 impeachment vote against the president, while Letlow’s House record and rapid fundraising have reinforced her lead in recent polling among Republican voters. State Treasurer John Fleming remains a distant second, drawing from his prior congressional service and Trump administration ties but lacking comparable institutional backing. A closely watched runoff on June 27 could still occur if no candidate reaches 50 percent, though current positioning leaves limited room for Fleming or Cassidy to overtake Letlow in the initial round absent major last-minute shifts in turnout or late endorsements.
