Recent National Weather Service forecasts and regional models indicate Atlanta's overnight low on August 28 will likely settle near 70°F under partly cloudy skies with light southeast winds, following daytime highs near 90–91°F and scattered afternoon thunderstorms. High dew points near 69–73°F and elevated humidity will suppress radiative cooling, keeping temperatures from dropping into the upper 60s as readily as drier conditions might allow. This aligns with late-August climatology around a 69.9°F average low while urban heat island effects in the metro area add a slight warming bias. Trader emphasis on the 72–73°F range reflects model consensus for limited overnight cooling amid persistent moisture, with lower bins priced in only modest downside risk from clearer skies or lighter winds. Updated NWS briefings and next model runs will refine exact minimum readings before resolution.
