Mercedes leads the 2026 F1 constructors’ championship with a commanding points advantage after the opening rounds, driven by superior power-unit performance and chassis balance under the new regulations that emphasize electric deployment and reduced drag. George Russell and Kimi Antonelli have secured multiple victories and strong qualifying results, establishing a consistent scoring edge over customer teams sharing the same engine. McLaren, the defending champions, trail in third after inconsistent weekends and reliability issues, while Ferrari sits second but lacks the outright pace to close the gap. Red Bull’s struggles with the updated aero and power-unit rules have left them far behind, with the rest of the field showing minimal threat. Trader pricing reflects this early-season dominance and the difficulty of overhauling such a deficit over the remaining calendar.
