**Forecast models from the National Weather Service and private sources converge on a daily maximum of 92–94°F for Chicago on September 2, 2026, driven by a strong heat dome advecting warm, humid air from the Southeast.** This setup supports the market’s heaviest weighting on the 92–93°F (42%) and 94–95°F (30%) brackets. Southwest winds of 10–15 mph with afternoon gusts to 25 mph will mix the boundary layer, while dew points in the mid-70s push heat indices near 100°F. The 8–10°F departure above the 1991–2020 normal of ~80°F reflects the anomalous ridge strength and lack of a cooling frontal passage before the date. Ensemble spread remains modest, with only modest downside risk from earlier convection or slight timing shifts in the ridge breakdown, keeping sub-90°F outcomes below 20% combined implied probability. Updated model runs and NWS briefings over the next 48 hours will provide the next resolution-relevant data points.
