Recent forecasts from NOAA and meteorological models indicate a persistent warm air mass advecting over Chicago via southwest winds, sustaining overnight lows near 78°F on September 2 amid elevated dew points that limit radiational cooling. This setup, with partly cloudy conditions and minimal frontal influence expected, underpins the tight clustering of market-implied probabilities around 70–79°F ranges. Subtle differences among leading outcomes hinge on variables such as nocturnal cloud cover, boundary-layer mixing, and minor shifts in wind trajectory that could alter minimum temperatures by 2–4°F. Upcoming model runs and National Weather Service updates over the next 48 hours will likely refine these projections amid typical late-summer forecast uncertainty.
