The Township of Langley’s October 17, 2026 mayoral contest features incumbent Eric Woodward’s Progress For Langley slate against challenger Jay Lundgren’s Langley Strong slate, which includes four sitting opposition councillors. The race remains closely balanced because both organized teams draw on established local networks and council experience, with limited public polling or major campaign events to date. Recent formal complaints filed by Langley Strong over alleged advertising rule violations by the Progress slate have added procedural tension without yet shifting voter alignments. Other declared candidates and the broad “Other” category reflect ongoing nomination uncertainty ahead of the September filing deadline. Further slate endorsements, council vote records on growth and infrastructure, or enforcement outcomes on the advertising complaints could widen the gap by clarifying each side’s organizational strength and policy contrast ahead of advance voting.
