The jury’s ongoing deliberations in Lindsay Clancy’s Plymouth County murder trial, following a five-week proceeding centered on her insanity defense, represent the chief driver behind the 66.5% market-implied probability that she will not be convicted. Prosecutors emphasized premeditation and planning in the 2023 deaths of her three children, while the defense highlighted postpartum psychosis, heavy medication, and expert testimony supporting lack of criminal responsibility. The nine-woman, three-man panel’s extended review of physical evidence such as pill bottles and the knife used in Clancy’s suicide attempt, combined with Massachusetts precedent for mental-health acquittals, has created trader consensus around a contested or non-criminal-responsibility outcome. A verdict remains possible when deliberations resume after the weekend.
