This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 17 May '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve to "Yes" until data for this date has been finalized. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is finalized for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.Official forecasts from the Hong Kong Observatory and supporting ensemble models indicate a minimum temperature of 23°C for May 17, driven by overnight radiative cooling beneath partly cloudy skies and a light northeasterly flow that limits mixing with warmer air aloft. This aligns with mid-May subtropical climatology, where typical overnight lows hover near 24–25°C amid warm South China Sea waters, but today’s stable high-pressure influence and reduced insolation have kept readings at the lower end of the range. Trader consensus at 100% for exactly 23°C reflects confirmed early-morning observations and tight model agreement, leaving little room for revision before resolution. Scenarios that could realistically alter this outcome remain limited to unexpected convective development or wind shifts that enhance mixing, though current guidance shows high confidence in the recorded low.
