Haley Stevens and Abdul El-Sayed for support across key counties, including Macomb, where blue-collar suburban voters and shifting turnout patterns create uncertainty. Incumbent Sen. Gary Peters endorsed Stevens in mid-July, bolstering her position among party regulars, while the candidates' final debate highlighted contrasting approaches on affordability and general-election viability. Early July polling showed the pair statistically tied statewide after state Sen. Mallory McMorrow's withdrawal, and Macomb remains particularly competitive due to mixed grassroots signals and its role in Democratic coalition building. Trader consensus reflects this balance, with limited separation expected absent late shifts in local endorsements or voter mobilization.
