The Parti Québécois maintains a commanding lead in trader assessments for the October 5, 2026 Quebec general election due to its consistent first-place standing in recent polling, particularly strong francophone support that translates into favorable seat projections. Multiple surveys from June through early August 2026 show the PQ ahead at roughly 30 percent, ahead of the PLQ near 26 percent and the CAQ near 20 percent, with the race tightening into a three-way contest after new leadership transitions at both the CAQ and PLQ earlier in the year. By-election gains for the PQ and limited momentum for the incumbent CAQ under its April 2026 leader have reinforced this positioning ahead of the expected late-August writ period. The remaining parties register negligible shares consistent with their projected seat totals.
