Recent polls position Parti Québécois leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon as the frontrunner for Quebec's next premier after the October 2026 election, reflecting the party's consistent strength among francophone voters and projected seat advantages in the National Assembly despite narrow popular-vote ties with the Quebec Liberal Party. Charles Milliard has lifted Liberal support since his February acclamation as leader, narrowing gaps in Montreal and anglophone areas through recent surveys. Christine Fréchette's Coalition Avenir Québec trails amid voter fatigue following François Legault's January resignation and her April leadership win. Éric Duhaime and smaller-party candidates remain marginal, with limited polling traction. The close race underscores francophone turnout dynamics and regional vote splits as key factors that could shift outcomes before election day.
