This market will resolve to "Yes" if the United Kingdom government formally designates the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization by June 30, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No." This includes designation as a proscribed terrorist group or organisation according to the UK Home Office, as well as the use of Royal Prerogative Powers or Orders in Council, legislation signed into law, or the creation of a new national designation that formally designates the IRGC as a terrorist organization. Statements by government officials, including the Prime Minister, Home Office, or National Crime Service, will not count unless accompanied by a formal designation. The resolution source will be a consensus of credible reporting or official information from the UK Government.UK government statements and parliamentary records show no active process underway for designating the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps under the Terrorism Act 2000 by the end of June, with officials repeatedly citing legal and procedural hurdles that have delayed similar actions despite pressure from allies and domestic groups. The National Security (State Threats) Bill, introduced on 9 June 2026 to create new designation powers for state-linked entities, remains in early legislative stages and is not expected to enable immediate proscription. Trader consensus at 95.7% on no designation by 30 June reflects the time required for parliamentary scrutiny, committee review, and royal assent. Late developments such as a major security incident tied directly to the IRGC or an accelerated all-party agreement could still shift the timeline.
