**Trader consensus centers on the 76-77°F bin at 95.5% implied probability because official National Weather Service observations from Houston-area stations recorded a minimum temperature in that narrow range overnight on September 18.** Clear skies, light southeast winds, and elevated dew points under persistent late-summer high pressure suppressed radiational cooling, producing lows several degrees above the 1991-2020 climatological normal of roughly 72°F. Model guidance issued in the preceding 48 hours consistently projected this outcome with minimal spread, and no frontal passages or convective cooling occurred to alter the trajectory. The market-implied odds therefore reflect aggregated trader assessment of verified station data rather than forecast uncertainty. Only an unexpected revision in the final climatological report or use of an atypical station could realistically shift resolution outside this band.
