**Forecast consensus from NWS and major models points to a low in the upper 70s for Houston on September 21, aligning with the market's leading 78-79°F outcome at 32.5% implied probability.** Persistent high pressure and a warm, humid air mass advected from the Gulf of Mexico are maintaining elevated overnight temperatures, while light southeast winds and limited cloud cover allow only modest radiational cooling. This setup contrasts with September climatology, where average lows near 71°F reflect cooler boundary-layer conditions typical later in the month. Model guidance shows tight clustering around 78-80°F with minimal spread, though small shifts in dew points or wind patterns could nudge the minimum by a degree or two. Traders are watching the next NWS update and evening model runs for any adjustments before resolution.
