National Weather Service forecasts for Austin on August 29 project a high near 101°F under sunny skies with light south-southeast winds, consistent with model consensus showing minimal cloud cover and continued subsidence from a subtropical ridge. This positions 100-101°F as the market leader at 62.5% implied probability, aligning with climatological norms for late August when highs average near 98-100°F but remain elevated amid an ongoing heat pattern. Recent days have featured readings in the upper 90s to low 100s with heat indices above 105°F, though no intensification or cooling trend is indicated before resolution. Traders appear to weigh the tight forecast spread against minor model variability in boundary-layer mixing.
