Recent National Weather Service and model consensus point to mostly sunny skies and southerly flow under persistent high pressure over central Texas, supporting daytime highs of 98–102 °F for Austin on September 1. Light winds near 5 mph and minimal cloud cover favor strong solar heating, while dew points in the mid-70s raise heat-index values above 105 °F without altering the dry-bulb maximum. Historical September 1 averages near 94 °F underscore the current anomaly driven by the late-summer ridge. With only 48 hours until resolution, traders have anchored the 98–99 °F and 100–101 °F bins at combined 75.5 % implied probability, reflecting tight agreement among short-range guidance and limited upside for outlier intensification.
