Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts for Austin on September 2 project a high in the upper 90s, centered near 98°F, under partly cloudy skies with a 20–40% chance of afternoon showers or thunderstorms and southwest winds around 5 mph. These conditions support the market-leading 98–99°F bin at 40.5% implied probability by limiting full solar heating while keeping values well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 94.1°F. Elevated heat indices near 105°F reflect high humidity, yet convective development introduces modest downside risk that favors the secondary 96–97°F outcome at 25%. Recent multi-day trends show stable warm advection without major pattern shifts, keeping the 100°F+ tail probabilities low at combined ~23%. Updated model runs and local observations tomorrow morning will refine these ranges ahead of market resolution.
