Recent forecast model runs and Met Office guidance indicate a westerly airflow advecting mild Atlantic air across southern England, supporting a daytime maximum near 20–21°C for London on September 17 amid partly cloudy conditions and light showers. This aligns with the market’s heaviest positioning on 21°C (50.0%) and 20°C (31.5%), reflecting trader consensus around seasonal norms rather than late-summer warmth seen earlier in the month. Ensemble guidance shows limited spread, with only modest upside risk to 22°C if insolation increases. Resolution will hinge on official Met Office observations at standard stations, with final data expected shortly after the close of the calendar day.
