**Persistent upper-level ridging over the southern Plains has locked in hot, dry conditions across Central Texas, with National Weather Service forecasts showing an overnight low in the mid-70s for Austin on September 15.** Southerly winds of 5–10 mph and dew points near 70°F will limit radiational cooling, keeping the daily minimum well above the 1991–2020 climatological average of 68°F. Model consensus from recent runs shows little change through the period, with only a slight chance of increased cloud cover that could modestly suppress the low. This setup favors temperatures clustering near 76–78°F, distinguishing the closely matched market outcomes around the 69°F threshold versus higher ranges. Updated NWS guidance and evening model runs will provide the next key data points before resolution.
