Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent independent Miaoli County magistrate since December 2022, holds an 88.5% implied probability as the leading outcome in the 2026 local election market, reflecting trader consensus on his entrenched local support and re-election bid. DPP nominee Chen Pin-an trails at 7%, consistent with the party's limited recent gains in the county despite formal nomination in late 2025. Multiple other listed candidates sit at 50%, indicating limited market conviction on their viability. Key positioning factors include Chung's prior independent victory amid fragmented opposition, ongoing administrative record through mid-2026, and the structural advantages of incumbency in Taiwan county magistrate races scheduled for November 28. No major new developments in the past month have altered these dynamics.
