Incumbent Democrat Gregory Meeks holds a commanding lead in the NY-05 House race due to the district's strong Democratic lean in southeast Queens, where he has represented the area since 1998 and secured over 70 percent in the prior cycle. Both major-party primaries were canceled after candidates advanced unopposed, leaving Meeks with substantial campaign funds and no significant primary threat. Prediction markets reflect trader consensus around these structural advantages, pricing the Republican nominee at minimal odds. A realistic shift would require late developments such as a major scandal, health event affecting the incumbent, or unanticipated redistricting changes before the November 2026 general election.

A candidate without a ballot-listed affiliation to either the Democrat or Republican parties will be considered a member of one of these parties based on the party with which they most recently expressed their intent to caucus at the time all of the House elections are conclusively called by this market's resolution sources.

If there is ambiguity, this market will resolve based solely on the official results as reported by the United States government, specifically the Federal Election Commission (https://www.fec.gov/).
