This market will resolve to the bracket within which the price for "Eggs, Grade A, Large (Cost per Dozen) in U.S. City Average" lies when the August data point is published by the St. Louis Fed (https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/APU0000708111). The St. Louis Fed bases its numbers for egg prices on the BLS's CPI release. The August release is presently scheduled for September 11, 2026. Resolution of this market will take place upon the update of the St. Louis Fed's chart. If no data for the specified month is released by the date the next month's data is scheduled to be released, this market will resolve based on data from the last available month. The resolution source for this market measures prices to the third decimal place. Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. If the reported value falls exactly between two brackets, then this market will resolve to the higher range bracket.Abundant egg supply from aggressive post-avian flu flock rebuilding continues to anchor trader sentiment for August 2026 retail prices, with the national laying flock exceeding 308 million hens and production up notably year-over-year. Wholesale prices have fallen to $0.62 per dozen as of mid-August 2026—down over 70% annually—while June 2026 retail averages reached $2.14 per dozen, 27.9% below prior-year levels, reflecting softened consumer demand and a shift toward processed alternatives. These dynamics have compressed implied probabilities across the $2.10–$2.40 range, where closely matched outcomes (28.4%, 25.4%, 24.5%) highlight uncertainty around seasonal demand, feed cost trajectories, and any residual HPAI risks that could tighten supply before month-end resolution. Market-implied odds aggregate real-capital bets on these commodity fundamentals rather than forecasts.
