Incumbent Gary Sulz's August 2026 announcement of his re-election bid for the October 17 local vote has positioned him as the early frontrunner among declared candidates in Revelstoke. With nominations still open and the full field forming, traders see limited separation as multiple potential challengers, including past contender Nicole Cherlet and others like Aaron Orlando, remain unconfirmed or low-profile. This uncertainty sustains tight probabilities across outcomes. Key upcoming developments that could shift sentiment include additional candidate filings by the September deadline, any public forums or endorsements, and voter registration trends ahead of the general local election. Historical precedent shows incumbents often hold advantages in BC municipal races, though turnout and local issues could influence final margins.
