Recent polls for Berlin's September 20, 2026, state election show a tight multi-party contest, with Die Linke at 20-22%, CDU near 19-20%, AfD at 17-19%, and Greens around 16-17%. This fragmented support, combined with AfD's national momentum and occasional first-place showings in Berlin surveys, supports trader consensus around 29-34 seats for the party. The race remains competitive due to volatile polling averages, uncertain turnout, and the 5% threshold's impact on smaller parties' seat allocation under the state's proportional system. Late campaign developments such as candidate debates, shifts in voter priorities on immigration or housing, or national political events could widen or narrow AfD's projected share before election day.
