Recent moisture from Gulf influences and variable afternoon convection are the main drivers keeping Polymarket odds nearly even between 86-89°F outcomes for Houston's September 3 high, with traders assigning only modest weight to 90°F-plus results despite some model guidance near 92°F. National Weather Service forecasts indicate a 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms under partly to mostly cloudy skies, which would reduce insolation and cap daytime peaks below climatological September averages of 89-91°F at Bush Intercontinental. High dew points near 75°F and heat indices above 100°F add uncertainty around exact maxima depending on timing of any storms. Updated short-range model runs and NWS afternoon briefings in the next 48 hours will likely refine steering patterns and convective timing ahead of market resolution.
