Recent Met Office guidance positions a 26°C high as the most probable outcome for London on September 6, driven by building high pressure and a southerly airflow advecting warmer air from the continent under mostly sunny skies. Model consensus supports daytime maxima in the mid-20s, with isolated afternoon showers possible but unlikely to suppress peak readings significantly. This setup follows a notably warm summer, including the UK’s hottest on record, though September climatology typically features highs near 19–20°C. Forecast uncertainty remains due to potential cloud build-up or slight timing shifts in the ridge, with updated model runs and official briefings expected to refine probabilities before resolution. Trader emphasis on 25–27°C brackets reflects these narrow margins in the latest guidance.
