This market will resolve to the temperature range that contains the lowest temperature recorded by the Hong Kong Observatory in degrees Celsius on 1 Sep '26. The resolution source for this market will be information from the Hong Kong Observatory, specifically the "Absolute Daily Min (deg. C)" the specified date once information is finalized in the relevant "Daily Extract", available here: https://www.weather.gov.hk/en/cis/climat.htm This market can not resolve until data for this date has been published. The resolution source for this market measures temperatures in Celsius to one decimal place (eg, 9.1°C). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market. Any revisions to temperatures recorded after data is initially published for this market's timeframe will not be considered for this market's resolution.**Trader sentiment for Hong Kong’s September 1 lowest temperature centers on the narrow 25–27°C range because official and ensemble forecasts converge on overnight lows near 26°C amid a transitioning monsoon trough.** As of late August 30, a broad low-pressure trough is sustaining scattered showers and thunderstorms across Guangdong and the northern South China Sea, with light northerly to northeasterly winds gradually strengthening. These winds, combined with high humidity (75–95%) and cloud cover, limit radiative cooling and keep minimum temperatures from dropping below the mid-20s. Multiple 10-day model runs and statistical guidance project a September 1 low of 25–27°C (roughly 77–81°F), aligning with climatological early-September averages of ~25–26°C while reflecting the modest cooling influence of the wind shift. The market’s tight clustering—26°C at 31.5%, 25°C at 27.5%, 27°C at 22%—reflects residual uncertainty in the exact timing and intensity of overnight showers versus clearer intervals, which can alter the minimum by 1–2°C. Updated model runs and Hong Kong Observatory guidance over the next 48 hours will be the key catalysts for any further tightening or shifts in these probabilities.
