Recent National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts indicate a cooling trend for Los Angeles by September 11, following a mid-week heatwave driven by moisture from former Tropical Storm Marie and strong high pressure. Overnight lows are projected in the mid-to-upper 60s°F under increasing onshore flow and marine layer influence, with daytime maxima falling into the low-to-mid 80s. This aligns with typical early-September climatology near 64°F for daily minima while remaining above record cool thresholds. Model spread on the precise timing of marine intrusion and wind patterns creates the near-even split between sub-62°F and 80°F+ outcomes, with resolution hinging on updated guidance expected within 48 hours.
