Chung Tung-chin, the incumbent Miaoli County magistrate running for re-election in Taiwan’s November 2026 local elections, holds an 88.5% implied probability as traders price in his established local support base and prior victory as an independent despite party tensions. DPP nominee Chen Pin-an sits at 7%, reflecting the opposition party’s limited recent gains in the county and the structural advantages of incumbency in magistrate races. Multiple other listed candidates at 50% indicate low or untested viability, with no major primary upsets, scandals, or polling shifts reported in recent months to alter positioning. The market consensus aligns with typical re-election patterns for sitting magistrates in similar Taiwanese local contests.
