Persistent high pressure and southerly flow are sustaining above-average heat across Central Texas, with National Weather Service guidance and ensemble models converging on a peak near 100°F for Austin on August 29 under mostly sunny skies and light southeast winds. Recent observations show daily highs of 100–107°F through late August, well above the 1991–2020 normal of ~95–97°F, while minimal precipitation risk and elevated humidity support heat indices near 107°F without altering actual air temperature. This stability reinforces trader consensus around the 100–101°F bin, though minor model shifts in boundary-layer mixing or timing of any weak trough could still influence the final maximum.
