Persistent frontal activity and a northerly flow of cooler, moist air have suppressed temperatures across the Kanto region, positioning 21–23°C as the dominant outcomes for Tokyo’s September 10 high. Recent heavy rainfall and an upper-level front have maintained overcast skies and scattered showers, limiting daytime heating and aligning with Japan Meteorological Agency guidance and ensemble model consensus for a maximum near 22–23°C. This represents a notable departure from the early-September climatological average of approximately 28°C. Traders are weighting these cooler readings heavily because additional model updates and official forecasts are unlikely to shift the pattern substantially before resolution.
