Forecast models from agencies like MetService indicate a high near 14–15°C in Wellington on September 17 as a frontal system brings northerly winds shifting southerly, with widespread rain and moderate precipitation totals expected. This aligns with spring climatology where September maxima average 12.5–14°C, though the incoming low-pressure influence and cloud cover limit upside potential while preventing sharp cooling. Trader consensus heavily favors these two outcomes at combined 86% implied probability, reflecting alignment across short-range guidance and low historical variance for daily highs under similar synoptic patterns. Updated model runs and official briefings over the next 48 hours will refine exact maxima before market resolution.
