**Forecast model spreads and atmospheric dynamics create tight clustering of implied probabilities around 58–67°F for Chicago’s September 8 minimum.** Official National Weather Service guidance and ensemble outputs show overnight lows most likely in the mid-to-upper 60s, with some guidance holding near 65°F under clearer skies while others trend toward the low 70s amid increasing cloud cover and southerly flow ahead of a weak disturbance. Southerly winds advect warmer, more humid air from the Gulf region, reducing the typical nocturnal cooling rate, while variable high and mid-level cloudiness modulates longwave radiation loss. Lake Michigan’s moderating influence keeps extremes in check compared with inland areas. Historical September climatology places average lows near 62°F, but the current pattern—following several days of highs in the 80s and 90s—favors a narrower diurnal range. Differing model solutions for the timing and coverage of Tuesday-night showers produce the observed market balance, with traders weighting the higher-probability bins that capture the most consistent guidance while assigning lower odds to outliers below 58°F or above 70°F. Updated NWS and model runs expected Monday evening will likely refine the range before resolution.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kord
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
