Recent National Weather Service and model guidance for Houston points to overnight lows in the upper 70s on September 6, driven by persistent high humidity, light winds, and potential overnight cloud cover or scattered showers that limit radiational cooling. Subtropical air masses typical for early September, combined with dew points near 75°F, support minimum temperatures around 76–80°F rather than the historical average low of roughly 75°F. With no approaching cold front or drier air mass, forecasts show little day-to-day shift, leaving the market’s clustered probabilities around 74–79°F reflective of this narrow range of expected outcomes and the inherent uncertainty in short-term mesoscale details.
