Recent National Weather Service and ensemble forecasts for San Francisco on September 16 indicate an overnight low in the upper 50s to low 60s, driven by persistent onshore flow, a moderate marine layer, and limited radiational cooling under partly to mostly cloudy skies. These conditions align with historical September averages near 56°F while reflecting slightly above-normal warmth from recent days. Trader sentiment clusters around 58–61°F buckets because small differences in wind speed, cloud timing, and urban heat-island effects can shift the exact minimum by a few degrees across official stations. The elevated probability on 68°F or higher captures residual uncertainty if stronger mixing or delayed cooling occurs, though current model consensus favors the mid-to-upper 50s range. Updated NWS briefings and hourly observations will refine resolution criteria before market close.
