Trader sentiment around an AI bubble bursting reflects ongoing high capital deployment into large language models and infrastructure, even as profitability concerns persist. Recent frontier releases including Grok 4.6, Claude Opus 5, and multiple Gemini 3.5/3.6 variants in July and August 2026 demonstrate continued capability gains and competitive intensity among OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and xAI. Market-implied odds appear anchored by sustained AI spending projections exceeding $2.5 trillion for 2026 alongside mixed signals on monetization, with executives like Sam Altman acknowledging hype risks while firms expand agentic and robotics applications. Key upcoming catalysts include earnings reports that could clarify revenue traction and any regulatory scrutiny on AI investment concentration.
