National Weather Service forecasts and model consensus for September 14 point to a maximum temperature in the upper 70s to low 80s Fahrenheit as the most probable outcome, aligning with the market's leading 78-79°F bin at 44.5% implied probability. Persistent onshore southwest flow and a typical September marine layer along the coast are moderating daytime heating, with patchy morning low clouds clearing to mostly sunny skies and light winds. This setup follows recent hotter inland conditions earlier in the month but reflects a return to near-climatological norms for the Los Angeles basin, where the 1991-2020 average high is about 76°F. Traders appear to weigh the stable model agreement and limited upside potential from any delayed clearing or stronger heating against minor risks of slight underperformance if fog lingers. Updated NWS guidance and afternoon observations will provide the final resolution inputs.
