**Current forecast guidance from sources like the National Weather Service and model runs points to overnight lows in the mid-60s°F for New York City on September 6, 2026, driven by northerly flow behind a recent frontal passage that has advected cooler, drier air into the region.** Clear to partly cloudy skies are expected to promote radiational cooling, though the urban heat island effect and seasonal norms (historical average low near 64.5°F) limit further drops. Recent observations show highs in the mid-80s with overnight mins in the upper 60s to low 70s, consistent with a gradual cooling trend. Trader positioning favoring 64–67°F ranges aligns with this consensus, while lower outcomes would require stronger high-pressure subsidence or unexpected clear-sky intensification not currently indicated in short-range models.
