Recent passings including fashion designer Bob Mackie and activist Gloria Steinem in September add competitive pressure, while earlier 2026 deaths such as Lindsey Graham, Sam Neill, and Kyle Busch highlight how timing, media coverage, and public recognition shape annual aggregates. Market-implied odds reflect trader focus on high-visibility entertainment figures over politicians or athletes, though late-year events could shift the final Google Year in Search list before December 30 resolution.
