Recent July University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment data rose sharply to a final 55.2 from June's 49.5, supported by easing gasoline prices and broad gains across income and demographic groups, though the reading remains 10.5% below year-ago levels amid persistent high prices. Market-implied odds concentrate around 52.0–57.9, reflecting trader consensus that the rebound may moderate ahead of the August 14 preliminary release. Key influences include inflation expectations (one-year at 4.2%), labor market conditions, and any shifts in monetary policy signals or energy costs that could alter household purchasing power and forward-looking views.
