Persistent high pressure across the Southeast is sustaining clear skies, light southeasterly winds, and strong daytime insolation, driving above-normal highs into the mid-90s for Atlanta on September 3. National Weather Service and private model guidance converge on 95–97°F, with heat indices near 100°F, consistent with the market’s leading 96–97°F bin at 49.5% implied probability. Historical September 3 averages near 86°F and a record of 95°F underscore the current anomaly. Limited cloud cover or moisture return in the next 48 hours keeps the risk of 98°F+ modest at 15.5%, while cooler outcomes remain low-probability under the stable ridge. Updated NWS briefings and afternoon model runs will refine the exact peak.
