Recent National Weather Service and model guidance points to a humid late-summer pattern over the Northeast with southwest flow and periods of cloud cover and showers on September 1, keeping daytime highs centered in the mid-to-upper 80s. Official forecasts from sources such as WeatherBug highlight a 87 °F peak amid 70 % storm chances and elevated dew points, while other runs cluster between 82–84 °F depending on the timing and coverage of precipitation. These conditions create tight uncertainty around the daily maximum, with small differences in cloud timing or convective development able to shift the observed high across the 84–87 °F range that currently holds the largest market-implied probabilities. Updated short-range model runs and National Weather Service briefings over the next 48 hours will provide the decisive data ahead of market resolution.
