**Persistent tropical moisture and afternoon convection are the dominant drivers keeping Miami's September 4 high temperature probabilities centered on the 88–91°F range.** Official National Weather Service guidance and short-range models indicate a classic early-September pattern: a strong Atlantic ridge maintaining a southeast flow that advects high precipitable water values (>2 inches) across South Florida. This fuels scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms, especially after midday, with 60–70% probability of precipitation on the 4th. Cloud cover and evaporative cooling from storms typically cap surface heating, preventing temperatures from reaching the seasonal record territory near 95°F or higher. Recent model runs show only modest day-to-day variability, with ensemble guidance clustering daytime maxima near 87–89°F. Historical climatology for September 4 places the average high around 89–90°F, but the current saturated airmass and sea-breeze interactions favor slightly cooler outcomes than clear-sky maxima. Heat indices remain elevated (near 105°F), yet the market-implied odds reflect traders’ assessment that widespread convection will limit the actual air temperature to the upper 80s or low 90s. No significant tropical system or anomalous ridge strengthening is expected to alter this setup before resolution.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the highest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=kmia
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
