Marine layer persistence and onshore westerly flow are suppressing daytime heating across the San Francisco Bay Area on September 20, keeping maximum temperatures in the low-to-mid 60s despite a seasonal average high near 71°F. Official forecasts from monitoring sources indicate a peak around 63°F under overcast skies with light winds, consistent with the market’s leading 66-67°F and 64-65°F bins that together exceed 70% implied probability. Historical September data show coastal sites frequently record 5–8°F below inland readings when stratus and marine influence dominate, limiting the chance of readings reaching 68°F or higher. Updated model runs and real-time observations through midday will refine whether any brief clearing allows modest warming before sunset.
