**Recent forecasts from sources like the National Weather Service, global models, and private providers point to a low temperature in the upper 50s to low 60s°F for New York City on September 22, 2026, aligning with the market's leading implied probabilities for 58-59°F (45%) and 60-61°F (32.5%).** A cool northeast flow behind a frontal passage is the primary driver, with breezy NE winds of 10-15 mph (gusts to 20-25 mph) advecting cooler maritime air and limiting daytime heating. Multiple 10-day outlooks show highs of 62-65°F and overnight/morning lows of 57-60°F under mostly cloudy skies with scattered showers (30-40% chance), which moderate the diurnal temperature range through enhanced mixing and evaporative cooling. This setup follows recent unsettled weather, including heavy rain on September 20 that has left residual moisture. Climatologically, the September 22 average low in Central Park is 59.4°F, so current guidance sits near or slightly below normal amid the early-autumn transition. Model consensus remains tight on the absence of strong cold advection or clear-sky radiational cooling that could push readings into the mid-50s, though minor shifts in wind strength or cloud cover could adjust the exact minimum by a degree or two. Traders appear to weigh these factors heavily, favoring the 58-61°F bins as resolution nears. New NWS and global model runs over the next 48 hours will provide the next key updates.

The resolution source for this market will be information from NOAA, specifically the lowest reading under the "Temp" column for all times on this day, available here: https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=klga
This market will resolve off of the Hourly Data provided using the "Show Hourly Data" button.
If NOAA data for the observation date is unavailable by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, the Weather Underground Daily Observations table will be used as the resolution source.
In the event that there is no data for the observation date by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, this market will resolve to the lowest bracket.
To toggle between Fahrenheit and Celsius, click the "Switch to US Units w/ kts" button until the relevant table displays °F.
This market will resolve once the first data point for the following date has been published on the resolution source, or by 11:59 PM ET on the day following the observation date, whichever comes first.
The resolution source for this market measures temperatures to whole degrees Fahrenheit (eg, 21°F). Thus, this is the level of precision that will be used when resolving the market.
Revisions to temperatures recorded within this market's timeframe will be considered until the first datapoint for the following date has been published, after which any alterations will not be considered.
